Andrew Ashton
Andrew is originally from North Yorkshire and began his training with Claire Monaghan before going on to Laine Theatre Arts and graduating in 2018 awarded with the Boy’s Classical Ballet Award. Immediately after graduating he joined Matthew Bourne’s company New Adventures and toured national and internationally for 2 years in Swan Lake including 8 weeks at Sadler’s Wells, tours of China, Japan and South Korea, and residencies at both the Kennedy Centre in Washington and the New York City Centre. Career highlights for Andrew since include featuring in Netflix’s Bridgerton (which the senior girls will be dancing choreography from tonight!), ITV’s Tom Jones, BBC and Disney+ Doctor Who, the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Party at the Palace and partnering Oti Mabuse for Disney + Disenchanted promo, as well as fittings modeling for Zara, Studio Nicholson and Burberry.
During lockdown Andrew trained as a practitioner member of IEMA and now works for New Adventures and the Theatre Green Book as Sustainability Manager where he has been awarded a 5 star rating by the Arts Council.
Andrew is also now starting his own dance production house with his business partner Jamiel Devernay-Laurence which creates revolutionary ballet and contemporary dance galas, ‘Ballet Nights’, at their venue, Lanterns Studio Theatre, in Canary Wharf which will feature the likes of Steven McRae and Melissa Hamilton later this year. They are very lucky to be supported by patrons Alexis and Frances Prenn, and Mark Baldwin OBE and plan to take the galas internationally and to be televised in the coming years.
